Job summary

Robert Peccia & Associates is seeking an Engineering Designer – Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our employee-owned firm across Montana. You will work with experienced teams on diverse infrastructure projects and may be placed in transportation, water, site civil, airports, or structures based on interests and staffing needs.

You’ll gain hands-on experience through planning, design, and construction phases while developing technical and professional skills to advance within the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• EI certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.
• 0–4 years of engineering, design, construction, internship, or related experience.
• Willingness to travel and perform field work as required by project assignments.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of engineering designs, construction plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform engineering calculations, evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and assist with technical recommendations.
• Assist with planning documents, engineering reports, technical memoranda, design documentation, and project correspondence.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, designers, clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in data collection, site visits, construction observation, inspections, and field activities as appropriate.
• Assist with construction documentation, contract administration, record drawings, and project closeout activities.
• Develop technical expertise through hands-on project experience, mentoring, training, and professional involvement.
