Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to support project teams under a licensed PE and help design and redevelop facilities across power, process, industrial, healthcare, airports and government sectors in Atlanta.

You will assist in design from concept to construction, modify drawings in CAD/BIM, prepare data and assist with client presentations, field measurements, and quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Proficient with standard mechanical engineering techniques and CAD/BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanical design from concept through design completion.
• Review production drawings for diverse facilities (power, process, industrial, healthcare, airports, government).
• Assist in designing mechanical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply standard mechanical engineering concepts, codes, and procedures.
• Assist with researching and compiling project data as required by project managers.
• Update drawings in CAD/BIM software to reflect corrections.
• Assist with client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned and ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with project teams across disciplines.
