JMT, headquartered in Hunt Valley, MD, seeks a Design Engineer to design transportation structures nationwide. You’ll contribute to bridge projects from our MD base, with ownership opportunities through ESOP and a structured mentorship program, while benefiting from a hybrid work schedule and competitive benefits.

The role requires a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, up to 3 years in bridge design/inspection, and proficiency with AASHTO LRFD, MicroStation, Mathcad, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a 4-year accredited university.
• 0 to 3 years of bridge structural design and inspection experience.
• Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
• Experience using structural analysis and design software, MicroStation drafting software, Mathcad, and proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Perform engineering tasks in the structural engineering field through application of AASHTO LRFD specifications, and design-oriented computer programs.
• Assist in the preparation of bridge project documentation including plan sets, specifications, and engineering estimates including the collection, assembling, and organizing of project data.
• Participate in plan and shop drawing reviews.
• Drafting using MicroStation.
• Assist in the field performing bridge and structure inspections.
• Working under the supervision of a Project Manager or Senior Level Engineer.
