Job summary

JMT, a 100% employee-owned firm, is looking for a Design Engineer to design transportation structures from our Hunt Valley, MD headquarters, with opportunities to work nationwide. You will engage in mentorship, ESOP ownership, and a structured career ladder while supporting projects across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering from a 4-year accredited university.
• 0–3 years of bridge structural design and inspection experience preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks in the structural engineering field applying AASHTO LRFD specifications and design-oriented computer programs.
• Assist in preparing bridge project documentation including plan sets, specifications, and engineering estimates.
• Participate in plan and shop drawing reviews.
• Draft using MicroStation.
• Assist in field work for bridge and structure inspections.
