Job summary

LightGrid LLC is seeking a JRSS NOC Technician III to work on site at Scott AirForce Base, IL. The role requires flexibility for rotating shifts and a active DoD Secret clearance.

The candidate will monitor and analyze network traffic across MPLS/JRSS, perform real-time failover, and coordinate with customers to ensure maximum service availability. Strong knowledge of routers, switches, and security devices is essential.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret security clearance required.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification at start date.
• High school diploma and 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate in a 24/7 environment.
• Experience with alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
• Expertise in routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
• Knowledge of network topologies and related concepts.
• Certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, ITILv4 are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations and analyze customer traffic over MPLS and JRSS.

• Collaborate with customers and peers to maximize network availability.
• Monitor network alarms through platform management tools.
• Manage changes including hardware replacements and configurations.
• Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions.
• Analyze incidents to identify resolutions using routers, switches, MPLS, VPNs, IDS/IPS, proxies, and firewalls.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations to include analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
• Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
• Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability to minimize or eliminate mission and operational impact.
• Proactively monitor network alarms across platform specific network management tools.
• Perform a variety of change management tasks which include hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
• Utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during the lifecycle of a service impacting network incident.
• Assess and identify resolutions to various network incidents and/or deficiencies leveraging knowledge in one or more of following: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, out-of-band management.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start date.
• High school Diploma and at least 2-4 years of experience.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
• Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
• Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
• General understanding of network topologies.
• Preferred Qualifications ?Tech control facility or cyber transport experience Circuit actions and vendor experience IP architecture experience Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience.
• Experience with MS Office suite, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs
• Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
• Any additional certifications to include: CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4.
