Job summary

RMantra Solutions seeks a Network Operations Specialist to manage MPLS/JRSS infrastructure and ensure maximum network availability. You will monitor alarms, perform real-time failovers, and work with customers to minimize service impact.

Candidates must hold DoD-8570 IAT Level 2, have an active DoD Secret clearance, and 3–5 years in network operations. A high school diploma is required, with experience in Cisco/Juniper and MPLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute network operations across MPLS and JRSS infrastructure.
• Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during outages and maintenance actions.
• Work with supported customers and peers to maximize network availability.
• Proactively monitor network alarms using management tools.
• Perform change management tasks including hardware replacement and software configurations.
• Document outages, degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions in incident management systems.
• Assess and identify resolutions leveraging routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, and firewalls.

Job description

• Execute network operations to include analysis of customer traffic across the MPLS and JRSS infrastructure
• Perform real-time customer failover to restore services during scheduled and unscheduled outages and maintenance actions.
• Work directly with supported customers and peers to ensure maximum network availability to minimize or eliminate mission and operational impact.
• Proactively monitor network alarms across platform specific network management tools.
• Perform a variety of change management tasks which include hardware replacement, software configurations, and ASI management.
• Utilize incident management applications to document all aspects of reported outages/degradations, isolations, escalations, and resolutions during the lifecycle of a service impacting network incident.
• Assess and identify resolutions to various network incidents and/or deficiencies leveraging knowledge in one or more of following: routers, switches, routing protocols, MPLS, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS, proxies, packet capture, network taps, load balancing, firewalls, out-of-band management.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) at start date.
• High school and 3-5 years of experience.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 operation.
• Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
• Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, routing protocols, CISCO, Juniper, MPLS.
• General understanding of network topologies.
• Must have an active DoD Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Tech control facility or cyber transport experience
  Circuit actions and vendor experience
• IP architecture experience
  Telco NOC, inside or outside plant experience.
• Experience with MS Office suite, i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs
• Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
• any additional certifications to include: CCNA, JNCIA-Junos, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4.
