YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking a Family Experience Leader to create a joyful, safe, and inclusive space for children and families. You will support holistic youth development through engaging activities that build confidence and belonging.

The role emphasizes delivering high-quality care in early childhood and drop-in child care, while modeling YMCA values and participating in programs and events within a dynamic community setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet youth and families to create a welcoming environment.
• Support daily activities and routines under supervision.
• Deliver safe, nurturing care in Stay & Play and Interactive Zone.
• Assist in planning and delivering Family Experience programs and events.
• Use diverse materials and experiences to promote learning and development.
• Follow YMCA policies to maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Complete opening and closing procedures accurately.
• Report unusual incidents via the Association Occurrence Report process.
• Follow check-in/check-out procedures and equipment guidelines.
• Ensure shift coverage and communicate scheduling needs.
• Model YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
• Promote a positive, collaborative team environment through clear communication.
• Maintain a professional appearance and participate in trainings and meetings.
• Support the Annual Giving Campaign efforts.
