Job summary

The YMCA of South Hampton Roads in Chesapeake, VA is seeking a Family Experience Leader to create a joyful, safe, and inclusive environment for children and families in Stay & Play and drop-in programs. This role supports holistic youth development and ensures high-quality care.

Under the direction of the Family Experience Director, you will greet families, assist in planning events, use diverse materials to promote learning, and uphold YMCA core values while participating in required trainings

Qualifications

• Experience assisting and delivering care in drop-in child care services (Stay & Play, Interactive Zone) under supervision.
• Ability to promote a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for children and families.
• Strong teamwork and communication to support family programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Warmly greet youth and families to build connections and ensure a welcoming environment.
• Support daily activities and routines under supervision of the Family Experience Director.
• Deliver safe, nurturing care in Stay & Play and Interactive Zone.
• Assist in planning and delivering Family Experience programs and events.
• Follow YMCA policies to maintain a safe and energetic environment.
• Attend mandatory staff trainings and meetings.
