Job summary

Adult Correction at Rutherford Correctional Center in Salisbury, NC seeks a Maintenance/Construction Technician III (S) to perform preventive and routine maintenance on facility systems, with journeyman level work in electrical and at least one other trade.

The role includes supervising laborers, ensuring safety, and holding a valid driver's license. Salary ranges from $41,206 to $72,113 annually, with NC09 pay grade and state pay scale.

Qualifications

• Documented knowledge of maintenance methods, practices, and materials.
• Planning projects, assigning tasks, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility systems and support buildings.
• Work at the journeyman level in electrical.
• Work at the journeyman level in at least one additional trade, preferably HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Service and repair secondary electrical systems, including interior lighting, building wiring, conduit, control wiring, perimeter lighting, electrical equipment.
• Repair commercial kitchen equipment.
• Make minor interior and exterior building repairs.
• Assist with repairs to HVAC and plumbing systems when needed.
• Supervise skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled laborers helping with assigned tasks.
• Support other staff performing trade work during preventive maintenance activities.
• Maintain systems in a safe and efficient manner.
• Hold a valid driver's license upon hire.
