Job summary

Adult Correction at Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an Electrician II (S) to perform journey-level work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

You will be responsible for maintaining electrical infrastructure, reading blueprints, and potentially supervising inmate workers on maintenance tasks within a secure facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in construction or repair of electrical systems.
• May require licensure by the governing board or commission.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair electrical systems and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Supervise inmate workers engaged in semiskilled or skilled maintenance tasks.
• Follow oral and written instructions and work independently within trade practices.
