Job summary

Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Inc. seeks a Lineman Apprentice for our Kyle, TX location. The role involves climbing poles, operating bucket and boom trucks, and assisting in pole setting and trenching tasks.

You will complete required training, progress through apprentice levels, and participate in call-out duties when needed. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, successful completion of the DOL Apprenticeship for Apprentice Level 1A, and a valid Texas CDL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Department of Labor approved Apprenticeship Program requirements for Apprentice Level 1A.
• Obtain a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and Motor Vehicle Record that comply with PEC policy.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles and work on de-energized poles and lines.
• Develop and maintain familiarity with boom truck, digger and bucket truck operations.
• Assist in digging holes and setting poles.
• Assist experienced Linemen as needed.
• Study and complete training manual.
• Attend climbing school within six months of hire date.
• Progress to Lineman Apprentice 2 status with training.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Operate PEC vehicle(s) for business purposes following laws and PEC policies.
