Candidates should be able to manage tools, follow safety protocols, and communicate effectively with supervisors on a busy industrial site.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Strong working knowledge of reading blueprints and technical specs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervision and management.

Responsibilities

• Reads specifications or blueprints to determine material locations, quantities, and sizes.
• Fabricates metal parts per blueprints or supervisor instructions.
• Unloads and positions prefabricated steel units for hoisting; operates or signals cranes.
• Verifies alignment of structural steel members using levels or laser equipment.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces using appropriate tools.
• Assembles hoisting equipment to move heavy materials.
• Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities to plan work activities.
• Inspects workers' output for compliance with plans and specs.
