Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Journeyman HVAC Service Mechanic for the Richmond/Norfolk area. You will install, service, and repair industrial HVAC equipment, troubleshoot complex systems, and ensure safety compliance.

Strong knowledge of rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems and electrical controls is required; licensing is highly valued. This is a hands-on, on-site role with physical demands.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in HVAC service.
• Licensing: Journeyman or Master HVAC license preferred or required for senior tracks.
• Physical: able to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights or in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial HVAC equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium-to-large HVAC systems and controls.
• Diagnose breakdowns, test parts, and perform repairs.
• Work on rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, and electrical controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as filter changes, belt inspections, and coil cleaning.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and execute repairs.
• Follow safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Record maintenance data and report critical issues to supervisors.

• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine tasks like filter changes, belt inspections, and coil cleaning.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns, test parts, and execute required repairs.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow strict safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and lockout/tagout protocols.
• Documentation: Record maintenance data and report any critical issues to supervisors.
