Job summary

Complete Building Services is seeking a skilled Journeyman HVAC Mechanic to support a large commercial facility in Northern VA (Fairfax). The role focuses on maintaining and repairing HVAC systems in a mission-critical environment, with emphasis on RTUs, air handlers, and cooling towers.

You will respond to service calls, document work in CMMS, and coordinate with facility managers and trades to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• HVAC Journeyman License is required.
• EPA 608 (Universal CFC) certification is required.
• Experience with RTUs, packaged units, air handlers, and split/mini-split systems.
• Healthcare, data center, or critical facility experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and CMMS documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment (RTUs, split systems, packaged units, air handlers, CRAC units).
• Respond to work orders and document work performed in CMMS.
• Maintain cooling towers and related pumps; coordinate with managers and trades to minimize downtime.
• Support preventive maintenance (PM) completion and documentation per site standards.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman HVAC Mechanic to support the operation and maintenance of a large commercial facility in Northern VA (Fairfax). Experience in healthcare, data center, or another mission critical facility preferred.

Schedule

• Shift: First Shift

• Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

• Days: Monday - Friday

• Salary: $45.00-$50.00

Position Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment and associated mechanical systems to support safe, reliable building operations. Respond to service calls and CMMS work orders, coordinate with building managers and other trades, and help minimize equipment downtime, especially for critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of:
  • Rooftop Units (RTUs)
  • Split systems and mini splits
  • Packaged units
  • Air handlers
  • CRAC units
• Respond to work orders in a timely manner and document work performed through the CMMS system.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cooling towers and associated pumps.
• Coordinate repairs and planned maintenance with building managers and multiple shop trades to reduce downtime and support critical operations.
• Support preventive maintenance (PM) completion and documentation per site standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting experience in a commercial/industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of RTUs, packaged units, air handlers, and split/mini-split systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical control issues at an equipment level.
• Experience responding to work orders and documenting work in a CMMS.
• Experience in healthcare, data center, or another critical environment.
