Job summary

Evergreen Talent Partners is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform hands-on service, maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, and repair work across large commercial environments in Richmond and Virginia Beach, VA. You will engage with K-12 schools, universities, and data center facilities, delivering reliable HVAC support.

The ideal candidate has a solid commercial HVAC foundation, strong troubleshooting skills, and a drive for technical growth within a growing service operation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience required.
• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
• Experience with large commercial maintenance contracts strongly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance across large commercial HVAC contracts.
• Service and troubleshoot VRF/VRV systems, VFDs, AHUs, RTUs, chillers, cooling towers.
• Support data center HVAC environments including precision cooling, CRAC, and CRAH systems.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, equipment replacement, installation, and retrofit work.
• Troubleshoot refrigerant circuits, electrical controls, and mechanical systems.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and warranty documentation accurately and on time.
• Work closely with service coordinators on daily scheduling and customer priorities.
• Mentor junior technicians as experience level warrants.
• Operate company vehicles safely to and from job sites.
• Maintain a strong focus on personal and jobsite safety.

Role Overview

• Experience in K-12, higher education, heavy commercial, or data center environments preferred
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• OSHA 30 preferred
• NATE certification or equivalent preferred
• CPR certification preferred
• Comfortable using basic computer systems, service software, and factory diagnostic tools
• Strong communication skills with customers, coordinators, and field teams
