Job summary

TIC_Craft in Abilene, TX is seeking a skilled equipment operator to manage power construction gear for excavation, loading, hauling, and grading. You will work on roads and rights-of-way, handling gravel, dirt, and sand, while ensuring safe, efficient operation and routine maintenance of machinery.

Responsibilities include trenching for culverts, reading and applying instructions, and training others on safe operation. Ability to work outdoors in all weather and overtime as required is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Strong working knowledge of tools and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain power construction equipment to excavate, move and grade material.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Check fluid levels, lubrication, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Instruct and train employees on safe operation and job techniques as needed.
• Inspect equipment and materials for defects; estimate time, costs, and resources.
• Ensure work complies with contract plans and specifications; address deficiencies.
