Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator Craftsman to operate power construction equipment, perform road work, and train others in safe operation. You will inspect and maintain equipment, load and grade materials, and work in varying outdoor conditions.

The role requires the ability to understand and follow instructions, use hand and power tools, and communicate effectively with supervision. On-site work with potential overtime is common.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Equipment Operator Craftsman in a Power Plant / Industrial setting.
• Must possess working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment to excavate, move and grade material on roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts and water/sewer pipes; remove silt and debris.
• Inspect equipment and maintain fluid levels and lubrication; ensure safe operation.
