Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator in Abilene, TX to operate power construction equipment, excavate, move, and grade material on outdoor sites. The role includes loading and hauling materials, paving and ditching for pipes, and enforcing safety on the jobsite.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to follow written and oral instructions, communicate with supervision, and operate electrical, hand, and power tools safely.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles and heavy equipment to build and maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load, haul, and spread gravel, dirt, sand; grade and smooth surfaces.
• Construct ditches for culverts and pipes; inspect and maintain fluid levels.
• Assist with safety training and teach proper machine operation.
• Inspect equipment and identify defects; estimate time, materials, and costs.
• Review subordinate work for quality and contract compliance.
