Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Abilene, TX is seeking experienced equipment operators to support maintenance and construction projects on roads and rights-of-way. You will load, grade, and spread materials, trench for utilities, and perform preventive checks to ensure equipment readiness.

This role requires safe operation of diverse machinery, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and effective communication with supervision.

Qualifications

May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Must possess working knowledge and abilities for position.
Ability to understand and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of vehicles and large heavy equipment while performing maintenance and repairs on roads and rights-of-way.
Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
Trench and construct ditches for culverts and pipes; remove silt and debris.
Check fluid levels and lubrication; maintain equipment.
Instruct and train employees in safe operation and skills as needed.
Inspect equipment and identify causes of errors or defects.
