Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, potentially overseeing a small crew. The role covers installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, with opportunities to learn in other divisions such as low voltage and fire alarm.

The candidate will measure, cut, bend, thread, and install conduit, terminate devices, read schematics, and troubleshoot circuits while adhering to safety standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools and benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards and feeders.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
