Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and possibly oversee a small crew. The role involves installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems and learning across divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

Responsibilities include conduit installation, device termination, circuit knowledge, reading blueprints, and mentoring trainees. The position requires electrical construction experience and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Able to use company tools and perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Willingness to learn job-related material through instruction and observation and participate in field training.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, branch circuits and feeder conductors
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site
