Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent and may oversee a small crew. Responsibilities include installing, altering and repairing electrical systems and equipment per project documents.

Qualified candidates will have strong reading of blueprints, knowledge of circuiting, and the ability to work overtime and weekends. The role offers opportunities to learn other divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm while growing in the electrical

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Owns and can use all tools required by company policy.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities and safety.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Ability to read and interpret basic construction documents and drawings.
• Interest and aptitude to learn related electrical trades on the job.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit and fittings.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels and conductors.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read project specs, blueprints and schematics.
• Layout work from drawings including underground layouts.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot basic lighting and power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.
