Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, potentially supervising a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1s. The role involves installation, alteration and repair of electrical systems, reading project specs, and opportunities to learn other divisions such as low voltage, controls, and fire alarm.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Must have company policy tools and know how to use them.
• Demonstrate the Amteck Way in daily work activities and decision making.
• Able to meet project schedules, weekends and overtime.
• Eager to learn job-related material on the job or in training.
• Demonstrate teamwork, safety and cooperation on site.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and reading construction documents.
• Willingness to participate in field training (OJT or classroom-based).

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate knowledge of circuiting and read specs, blueprints, schematics.
• Lay out small areas from drawings and project documents including underground layouts.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on site.
