Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking skilled workers to operate heavy construction equipment for road maintenance and material handling in the Abilene area. The role involves loading, hauling, grading, and trenching to support utilities and drainage projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant field experience.
• Strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
• Ability to follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate with supervision.
• Proficient in safe and efficient use of tools and measurement devices.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment to maintain roads and rights-of-way.
• Load gravel, dirt and sand; smooth and grade roads; spread rock and gravel.
• Trench and construct ditches for culverts, water pipes and sewers; remove silt and debris.
• Check and maintain all fluid levels and lubrication of equipment.
• Instruct and train employees in safe operation and techniques as needed.
• Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify causes of errors or defects.
• Estimate sizes, distances, quantities, time, costs, resources, or materials needed for work.
• Review subordinate work for contract compliance and correct deficiencies.
