Job summary

Integrated Life Choices is seeking compassionate Job Coaches to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving meaningful employment and independent living. This role includes back-up DSP responsibilities, mobility assistance, and helping participants access community jobs.

We value empathy, reliability, and the ability to adapt to diverse settings. A valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certifications are required, with a supportive, team-based work

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 19 (state requirement).
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Preference for experience in developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to interpret procedures, instructions, and other detailed material.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in understanding and exercising their rights.
  • Help individuals live as independently as possible with self-advocacy and support.
  • Provide person-centered support tailored to each person’s needs and work environment.
  • Perform job analyses to create plans that help individuals work independently.
  • Assist with transportation to/from community employment or arrange transportation.
  • Teach life, daily, and social skills while modeling productive behavior.
  • Assist with medication administration according to policies.
  • Support with lifting, transfers, and mobility using proper techniques.

We hope you will consider joining us as an employee owner.Integrated Life Choices (ILC) is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Job Coach.Job Coach at ILC provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a variety of settings to ensure they have a meaningful life. As a Job Coach, you will work with individuals to support them in achieving their hopes and dreams.A Job Coach also supports people with developmental and/or physical disabilities who are seeking competitive employment and/or currently employed in the community. This role must be adaptable and provide back-up support as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for vocational services with day site locations.Essential Functions & Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):Support people in understanding and exercising their rights.Encourage people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacy and support.Provide the best person-centered support to meet people’s needs throughout their lives and tailored to the needs of the employee and the work environment.Complete job analysis to identify job duties and use this to develop a specific plan to best support the employee working as independently as possible.Support and encourage positive, social interactions.Support to improve social connections and relationships with others.Provide transportation to and from community employment jobs or assist them in arranging transportation to and from work.Provide opportunities to support and guide people in achieving their goals.Teach life-improving skills, daily skills, and social skills while modeling productive behavior.Support in joining groups or organizations in line with the personal interests of the person supported to meet recreational and social needs.Follow ILC’s Medication Administration policies and procedures.Intervene in aggressive situations and/or physically demanding responsibilities.Support with lifting individuals to and from wheelchairs using body mechanics and adaptive equipment.Support a person to and from a shower or other various hygiene needs.Use a gait belt or other adaptive equipment for mobility purposes.Lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.Be able to slide into a wall seat and then into a seated position from standing to sitting on the floor.Kneel to one knee or both knees quickly.Twist, reach up and down, crawl, and/or run.Examples of Job Coach Work Performed:Utilize programs to guide daily interactions.Direct daily activities to teach and expand a person’s behavior and skill development necessary for independence.Support people in all aspects of life including grocery shopping, meal preparation, and recreational and leisure activities.Support with all aspects of personal hygiene.Monitor medical records and support medication administration as directed.Provided transportation to and from community work sites or support in scheduling transportation.Participate/contribute to meetings related to individual and company services, interests, etc.Other tasks assigned by the manager or the company.Ability to calculate and complete basic math required for handling cash and maintaining a budget.Ability to explain, direct, and document all types of informationBenefits available for qualifying positions:401(k) with company matchHealth insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceSupplemental insurance offeringsPaid Time OffEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Job Coach Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.AvailabilityStandard working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 5:30PM.
