Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking an Assembly and Test Mechanic for its F135 MRO Depot in Florida. The role operates on the first shift, Monday–Friday, with early start times.

You will use power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assemblies and test equipment, acquire necessary tools, and set up test stands per procedures. You will also inspect and document quality and prepare engines for shipment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 4+ years of formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing.
• A & P License.
• F135 experience preferred.
• 6+ years in similar function.
• Well-rounded knowledge of aviation standards, jet engine design and operation, jet engine hardware and components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand experience.
• SAP, Solumina experience.
• Creative troubleshooting skills.
• Possess excellent judgment and professional maturity.
• Possess exceptional people and interpersonal skills.
• Forklift, scissor lift, and other PIV trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test jet engines using power tools and inspection steps.
• Perform functional checks on engine assemblies/components or test equipment.
• Acquire tools and hardware as required to perform procedures.
• Set up test stand and mount test article per procedure.
• Monitor instrumentation and perform engine service during test under supervision.
• Inspect, document and report on equipment, facilities and support systems.
• Move and package engines for shipment to customers.
