Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center is seeking a skilled Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble advanced jet engines powering commercial and military aircraft worldwide. You will work in a hands-on, team-driven environment, applying mechanical expertise to restore engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

This 1st shift role runs Monday–Thursday, 5:00 am–3:30 pm, at a FAA-regulated facility with strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience preferred.
• A&P license or Powerplant certificate preferred.
• Hands-on experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly, or turbine engine test operations.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data.
• Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine.
• Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self-inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.
