Job summary

Pratt & Whitney West Palm Beach is seeking an Assembly and Test Mechanic for a 3rd shift role. You will layout, assemble and test jet engines and APUs, using a wide range of tools to ensure quality.

The job requires training in power-plant mechanics and familiarity with FAA aviation standards, with opportunities to mentor two teammates. Role emphasizes safe operation, adherence to EHS and quality policies, and preparation of test articles for delivery to test cells.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 1+ years of formal training in power-plant mechanics and testing or 1+ years of automotive training or experience.
• A&P License preferred.
• 4+ years in a similar function.
• Previous MRO/FAR 145 repair station experience preferred.
• Well-rounded knowledge of FAA and aviation standards, jet engine design and operation, jet engine hardware and components, instrumentation installations, engine assembly or test stand experience. SAP, Solumina experience.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate, assemble, and modify jet engine assembly or test articles, stands, equipment, and support systems.
• Use varied power and mechanical tools to perform functional checks on engine assemblies or test components.
• Operate tools to assemble/disassemble a jet engine or APU; inspect functions for final quality.
• Monitor instrumentation and perform engine service during test.
• Train up to two team members during assembly/disassembly or test processes.
• Complete documentation/sign-off in procedures as required.
• Prepare test article for delivery to the test cell.
• Troubleshoot and maintain test facilities, equipment, and support systems; preserve test article for shipment.
• Adhere to Pratt & Whitney, EHS and Quality policies.
