Job Overview

Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all Jefferson employees, students, visitors, staff, and property. Officers patrol the campus on foot or bicycle, monitor safety, respond to incidents, and enforce laws and policies. Must be available for all shifts and flexible to rotate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff, embodying Jefferson's values.
• Patrol campus buildings and areas, conduct unscheduled checks of sensitive and high-risk zones, and identify security violations or hazards.
• Provide escorts, report safety concerns, and produce incident reports before shift end.
• Advise crime victims on reporting procedures and collaborate with law enforcement agencies.
• Testify in court when subpoenaed, assist with security details for events, and support emergency response efforts.
• Perform additional security duties such as responding to calls, assisting victims, and managing visitor regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience required.
• Ability to pass physical, psychological, and drug tests.
• PA Armed positions require Police Academy training or compliance with Act 501 and Act 235F.
• Valid driver’s license and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Work Schedule

Night shifts in the United States.
