Jefferson Police Department - Police Officer Armed (prior police experience)- Full Time - Various Locations & Shifts

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety and security of all Jefferson employees, students, visitors, staff, and property.
• Patrol Jefferson campus on foot or bicycle, monitor safety at various locations, and respond to serious incidents in accordance with laws and policies.
• Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff, and provide on-campus escorts as needed.
• Report security and safety concerns, produce incident reports, and advise crime victims on reporting procedures.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, testify in court, and participate in security details for events.
• Assist in emergency response situations, including fires, bomb threats, and other crises.
• Perform other security duties as directed, including responding to calls for service and escorting unauthorized persons.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of organizational change management, problem-solving, security measures, and crisis management.
• Ability to analyze situations, work effectively in a team, and make productive decisions during emergencies.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience required.
• Ability to pass physical, psychological, and drug tests; valid driver’s license; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• For PA Armed positions: completion of Police Academy training or compliance with Act 501 and Act 235F requirements.

Work Shift: Rotating shifts available.
