Jefferson Police Department - Police Officer Armed (prior police experience) - Full Time - Various Locations & Shifts

Job Responsibilities

1. Ensure the safety and security of Jefferson employees, students, visitors, staff, and property.
2. Patrol campus on foot or bicycle, monitor safety at various locations, and respond to serious incidents in accordance with laws and policies.
3. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and staff, and conduct unscheduled checks of high-risk areas.
4. Provide escorts, report security concerns, and produce incident reports.
5. Advise crime victims on reporting procedures and interact with law enforcement agencies, including court appearances.
6. Participate in security details, VIP protection, crowd control, and emergency response activities.
7. Perform other security duties as directed, including responding to calls, assisting victims, and ensuring visitor compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience required.
• Ability to pass physical, psychological, and drug tests.
• Valid driver’s license and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• For PA armed positions: completion of Police Academy training or compliance with Act 501 and Act 235F.

Work Details

• Rotating shifts, full-time employment.
• Location: 1015 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA.
