Job summary

The Lockwood Group is seeking a Java Software Engineer to support the development, integration, and sustainment of software within C5ISR hardware and software systems at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. You will contribute across the system lifecycle, from design support to implementation and testing, in a DoD contracting environment.

Ideal candidates bring a BS in a technical field, 10+ years of experience, and an active DoD Secret clearance, with a track record in structured engineering processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance; experience in major weapon systems product development and acquisition.
• Experience delivering software in structured DoD engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Support software engineering activities across system design, development, and integration efforts.
• Translate system and user requirements into software solutions.
• Contribute to software implementation, testing, and validation activities.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of system‑level software issues.
• Participate in configuration management and technical documentation efforts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure alignment across hardware and software components.
