Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Java AMS Lead to ensure stability and performance of enterprise Java applications within the Application Managed Services team. You will lead production support, coordinate incidents, and drive improvements across onsite and offshore groups.

The role requires strong incident, problem, change, and release management skills, plus hands-on Java development and executive reporting capabilities. This onsite Boston position offers a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience supporting and managing enterprise Java applications in a production support or AMS environment.
• Strong expertise in incident, problem, change, and release management processes.
• Experience leading production support teams and coordinating onsite-offshore delivery models.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex application issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Hands-on Java application development, debugging, and minor enhancements.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive reporting skills.
• Experience deploying, migrating, testing, and production releases.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support activities for critical Java-based applications, ensuring availability and SLA adherence.
• Serve as primary escalation point for production incidents, coordinating resolution across onsite and offshore teams.
• Drive incident, problem, change, and release management processes with root cause analysis.
• Analyze business requirements and deliver minor enhancements and fixes.
• Monitor application health, integrations, and performance, pursue automation opportunities.
• Manage stakeholder communications, escalations, and service delivery reporting.
• Support migrations, deployments, testing, and production releases.
