Job summary

ZEISS is seeking a Field Service Engineer for a three-year international assignment based in Japan, with a planned transition to Boise, Idaho, USA. You will install, maintain, and service advanced semiconductor systems, traveling internationally for training and collaboration.

The role requires fluency in English and Japanese, strong hands-on technical skills, and a customer-focused mindset. Successful candidates will coordinate with global teams across Japan, Germany, and the United States, and

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering/Optics/Mechatronics preferred; 5 years in optics/mechatronics acceptable.
• Strong customer orientation with flexible service hours.
• Ability to read electrical/mechanical engineering docs and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install and service ZEISS tomography and mask shop systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair.
• Be primary on-site contact in Japan for customers and teams.
• Coordinate service activities with customers and ZEISS teams worldwide.
• Manage spare parts inventory and documentation of activities.
