Job summary

TAPCO is seeking a Traffic Systems Technician to maintain, install, and troubleshoot Intelligent Transportation Systems in Appleton, WI. The role involves working with traffic signals, signboards, cameras, and network equipment, and collaborating with contractors to deploy new devices.

Ideal candidates have a background in electronics, networking, and fiber optics, with willingness to travel outside Wisconsin and to work flexible hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Two years of field service and troubleshooting experience.
• Working knowledge of electronic, electromechanical and electrical power principles.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electronic, computer, communication, network systems.
• Safely operate related tools and equipment.
• Operate computer systems and software for device management.
• Provide technical phone support to customers and contractors.
• Troubleshoot equipment to the board level and repair as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and field reports.
• Communicate effectively with team, contractors, and customers.
• Implement and manage software/firmware changes on devices.
