Job summary

Econolite Group is seeking an ITS Technician in the Miami Lakes, FL area to lead installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of traffic signals and ITS devices. The role requires extensive site work, travel across Florida and potentially other US locations, with on-call duties including nights and weekends.

The candidate will work under general direction, service customers, and contribute to keeping traffic systems reliable and safe. OSHA compliance and IMSA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience.
• IMSA Level II or III preferred; FDOT Temporary Traffic Control Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, practices, and methods in installing, maintaining, and repairing ITS devices.
• Knowledge of traffic control guidelines (state/local).
• Ability to read schematics, site plans, maps, and engineering drawings.
• Ability to troubleshoot data communication equipment and cables.
• Knowledge of fiber optic cable & networking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain ITS equipment and traffic signals.
• Install street lighting and traffic signals and related cabinets and wiring.
• Travel to project locations; some nights/weekends may be required.
• Operate bucket truck for ITS maintenance duties.
• Support training of new technicians and other ITS staff.
• Represent Econolite professionally to customers and stakeholders.
