Job summary

Econolite in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Full-Time Non-Exempt Maintenance/Tech role to support installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of traffic signals and ITS devices. The role involves hands-on field work with signals, wiring, and related equipment in a busy road environment.

The ideal candidate has 1–5 years' experience in video systems or ITS field work, valid driver's license, and ability to interpret schematics. OSHA knowledge and safety-first approach are valued in this role.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver’s License and DMV record required.
1–5 years in video systems, cabling, or ITS field work preferred.
Knowledge of installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signals and ITS devices.
OSHA regulations knowledge.
Ability to read design schematics, site plans, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance of ITS devices and troubleshoot wiring in cabinets and underground.
Program video detection systems; install poles, signal heads, lights, and related ITS hardware.
Troubleshoot and repair wiring on highways, including conductor replacement in conduit.
Assist in training new technicians; perform all duties of Maintenance Technician and Trainee.
Schedule subcontractors for electrical and RWIS/conduit work.
Represent Econolite as a proactive customer service & brand ambassador.
Perform other duties as required.
