Job summary

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is seeking a Manager, Iterable to lead our email program from strategy to execution. Based in Chicago or Washington DC, you will oversee a production team and partner with Marketing, BI, and editors to deliver high‑performing campaigns.

You will own email strategy, governance, journeys, and automation, monitor deliverability, and optimize campaigns through testing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in email marketing with progressive responsibility in strategy and team leadership.
• Experience modernizing an email program.
• Experience managing production staff and scalable workflows.
• Strong understanding of email deliverability, CAN-SPAM compliance, and accessibility.
• Working knowledge of platform integrations and marketing automation tools.
• Intermediate HTML/CSS skills.
• Ability to interpret analytics and translate performance data into strategic recommendations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence decisions, guide stakeholders, and enforce standards.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with analytics, data science, and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own email strategy end-to-end: evaluate programs for member value and streamline the portfolio.
• Own, set and enforce standards for email content, structure, accessibility, and ad placement.
• Design, build, and maintain marketing automation programs and journeys to reduce manual effort and improve targeting.
• Stay current on email industry trends, deliverability standards, and best practices; evangelize insights.
• Test, analyze, and optimize campaigns through A/B testing to increase open rates and engagement.
• Own email list management operations and train stakeholders on list processes.
• Advise stakeholder teams on campaign approach and system capabilities from planning through execution.
• Partner with BI to define KPIs, build marketing integrations, develop audience segmentation strategies, and establish performance reporting for email campaigns.
• Manage a team of full-time email production staff and establish scalable workflows.
• Create and maintain the master email calendar; coach team members on production quality and best practices.
• Step in to build or quality-check email as needed; troubleshoot production, data, and deliverability issues.
• Oversee relation with the email service provider, budgeting, invoicing, and vendor coordination.
