Job summary

NewCold is seeking an IT - WMS Super User to manage on-site IT and WMS functions, ensuring services align with customer requirements within budget. You will become the on-site expert, coordinating with Davanti and other suppliers, and training staff during onboarding and updates.

The role requires 5+ years in cold storage IT/WMS, hands-on hardware and software maintenance, and proven leadership in cross-cultural teams.

Your role as a IT - WMS Super User

Key responsibilities

Job Purpose: To effectively manage the IT and WMS functions on site and provide a level of service in line with customer requirements, at a level of cost agreed in the budget. To create and develop a professional culture on site, in line with our values and ensure that a positive attitude to Health & Safety is embedded within the team on site. To become an expert in all IT related systems and software programs, to provide full support with suppliers.

• Verify that agreed Customer SOPs are executed with precision and without deviation. Unless previously stated by the Site Manager.
• Continually monitor all IT hardware on site to make sure all is in good repair.
• Training and indirectly managing the team to ensure all are in line with company IT policy and ensuring agreed standards followed.
• Working with the managers or supervisors on improvement initiatives to reduce cost and/or improve service.
• Exploring and implementing additional functionality related to both the Software and Hardware systems.
• Bug detection and fixing with all systems both Software and Hardware.
• Implementing all system updates and planning updates with the corresponding teams or departments.
• Training operational staff during on-boarding and when updates or improvements are made.
• Engaging the WMS supplier (Davanti) to ensure the system is working correctly and improvements are completed.
• Engaging various Software and Hardware suppliers to maintain site requirements.
• Closely monitor and control all expenditure, focusing on IT related costs and reacting quickly to adverse variances.
• Complete agreed internal reporting and communication as required by Site Manager.

Additional Tasks: Assisting the operation as required by the site, including:

• Support Business Development initiatives as and when required.
• Share best practice and standards with colleagues in other Newcold sites, and join collaborative projects.
• Continually look to opportunities for improvement.

Educational Requirements

• High School Degree
• Bachelors in Degree in Information Systems or in a related field of expertise

Experience Requirements

• 5+ years of operational experience in cold storage IT and WMS systems
• Implementation experience in IT and WMS systems for cold storage facilities
• 4+ years of experience in Training and Team Leadership experience within cross cultural environments.
