Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission - PGC Planning is seeking an experienced IT / Telecom Support Supervisor to lead the Network and Technology Services team in the Prince George’s County Planning Department. You will manage the helpdesk, support a 250-user network, servers, SAN, and virtualization, and collaborate on security and cloud initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of network administration or infrastructure support.
• Experience managing a user support staff and directing activities.
• Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and security tools.
• Experience with SolarWinds SIEM, O365, ManageEngine, PDQ, SharePoint.
• Strong TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking knowledge.
• Windows Server administration and virtualization proficiency.
• Understanding of zero-trust security models and cloud access controls.
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Certs preferred (CCNA, AZ-104, ZCCA).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all user support activities and operations.
• Oversee and support AV operations for Planning Board meetings and events.
• Maintain a complete inventory of IT assets.
• Supervise 5-6 IT Telecom Support staff members and conduct evaluations.
• Plan and deploy network upgrades, wireless improvements, and security enhancements.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on access policies and cloud security.
• Troubleshoot connectivity across LAN/WAN, VPNs, cloud, and mobile endpoints.
• Configure and troubleshoot cloud platforms such as Zscaler, Azure, or AWS.
• Support Microsoft 365, Teams, Adobe, GIS software, and related tools.
• Maintain and enhance department networking infrastructure (cable, racks, security).
• Provide strong customer service, including VIPs, and vendor communications.
• Assist with budgeting and expenditure planning; participate in budget development.
• Document procedures, diagrams, and network configurations for compliance.
