Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission in Largo, Maryland, seeks an experienced IT/Telecom Support Supervisor to lead the Network and Technology Services (NTS) team within the Information Management Division of the Prince George’s County Planning Department.

You will oversee helpdesk operations, manage a 250-user department network, servers, SAN, and virtualization, while collaborating with cybersecurity for access policies and cloud security configurations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network administration or infrastructure support.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all user support activities and operations.
• Oversee and support AV operations for Planning Board meetings and other special events.
• Maintain a complete and comprehensive inventory of IT assets.
• Manage and supervise 5-6 full-time staff members and perform the full range of supervisory management functions.
• Plan and deploy network upgrades, wireless infrastructure improvements, and security enhancements.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce access policies, zero-trust models, and cloud security configurations.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues across LAN/WAN, VPNs, cloud platforms, and mobile endpoints.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-based networking and security platforms such as Zscaler, Microsoft Azure, or AWS.
• Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Adobe, GIS software, and other tools.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of the physical network infrastructure.
• Demonstrate strong customer service skills, especially with VIP customers.
• Communicate with vendors to secure cost estimates and materials.
• Manage project or section budgets; participate in division budget development.
• Document procedures, diagrams, and network configurations for reference and compliance.
