Job summary

Nex-Tech Wireless is seeking an IT Technician in Hays, Kansas to deliver daily end-to-end technology support across networking, servers, and security. The role emphasizes Networking, Server Administration, or Cyber Security and supports other areas as requested by management.

You’ll configure core network infrastructure, manage servers, perform backups, and maintain documentation. A background in Windows services and VMware is preferred; relocate within 30 miles of Hays if needed.

Qualifications

• Strong technical, analytical skillset and growth mindset in IT.
• Experience with routing, firewalls, VLANs and related software suites.
• Experience with Microsoft services, endpoint security, and VMware preferred.
• Cloud experience with Azure or AWS beneficial.

Looking for Something Different? At Nex-Tech Wireless, we’re always working to bring the latest technology to the communities we serve. Join our hometown team as anIT Technician and provide daily end-to-end technology support. This individual will be expected to specialize in Networking or Server Administration or Cyber Security and assist in other areas as requested by management. This position is based in Hays, Kansas.

We are seeking skilled candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

• Configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core network infrastructure (Aruba, SonicWALL).
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot the server environment including physical and virtual servers, storage arrays, consoles, and related hardware (HPE, VMware, APC).
• Configure and maintain software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and vendor-specific applications.
• Perform backups, security software updates, configuration changes, upgrades, and migrations for all network hardware.
• Ensure accurate monitoring and inventory of all technology assets in use by the company.
• Conduct hardware maintenance on various assets including telephony, security, and access control systems.
• Create and maintain appropriate network, systems, and troubleshooting documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong technical, analytical skillset and motivation for constant development and growth in the IT discipline.
• Demonstrated proficiency in systems, networking concepts (routing, firewalls, VLANs, etc.), and relevant software suites.
• Experience with or knowledge of Microsoft service applications, endpoint security programs, and VMware products preferred.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or similar services beneficial.
• CompTIA, Cisco, HPE/Aruba or similar certifications beneficial (CCNA, Network+, Server+).
• Strong technical writing and documentation ability.
• A background check will be required for this position.
• Applicant must live in or be willing to relocate within a 30-mile radius of Hays, Kansas.
