Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking an Intern - IT Technical Support to join our team in Des Moines. The intern provides limited technical support and performs administrative duties under the direction of IT specialists and supervisors.

This role is designed for students pursuing IT careers and can be used to complete internship or work-study requirements. Hours are 16 per week, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, at Des Moines, IA - Methodist Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in post-secondary education towards a degree in Information Technology or related field.
• Experience with personal computers.
• Valid driver’s license for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Performs quarterly end of lease activities as assigned.
• Assists on local and enterprise IT projects.
• Works with CDS team to ensure customer satisfaction within timeframes.
• Performs system upgrades, repairs and maintenance on computer systems and peripherals.
• Installs, integrates, and configures new computer systems.
• Uses problem tracking system and communicates changes to the system administrator.
• Interacts with customers to ensure hardware and software needs are met in a timely manner.
• Completes special projects and required reports.
