Job summary

Intermountain Health in Grand Junction, CO is seeking an IT Intern to gain hands-on experience in deploying, supporting, maintaining and troubleshooting computers and devices. This on-site role provides exposure to ITIL processes and security policies within a hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will learn to resolve minor issues, document resolutions, support new systems and participate in projects that aid department operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong research, organizational and analytical skills as well as the ability to teach users.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a graceful and sensitive manner.
• Ability to successfully function in a fast paced, service-oriented environment.
• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
• Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of team members, they learn to resolve minor computer issues.
• Adequately documents notes and resolution to issues in ITIL ticketing system.
• Updates support staff regularly on the status of projects, incidents, service requests.
• Responds to messages according to priority schedule. Under the direction of team members, they learn to support new and existing systems while keeping abreast of technology changes.
• Under the direction of team members, implements enterprise defined security policies (hardware and software).
• Works with team members to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals.
• Gains knowledge of the department's / facility's functions. Under the direction of team members, the CFS Intern is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department / facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
