Job summary

Phoenix Defense in Gilbert, AZ is seeking an IT System Specialist I to join our on-site IT team. This temporary-to-permanent role supports internal users, remote staff, contractors and MSP customers in a hands-on capacity.

You will install servers, configure workstations, manage AD tasks, handle inventory, purchases and OS/app troubleshooting, while learning from senior Systems Admins in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of computer hardware repair and helpdesk support.
• Working toward or possessing CompTIA Security+ certificate (must obtain within 6 months).
• Knowledge of Apple and Windows machines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support end users via tickets and verbal requests.
• Install servers and UPSs into racks.
• Configure or repair laptops and desktops; maintain workstations and network performance.
• Support, install or troubleshoot operating systems and applications.
• Back up data and perform troubleshooting.
• Set up new employee workstations; prepare purchase requisitions.
• Keep inventory and perform Active Directory password resets.
• Document processes and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Interact with internal teams and MSP customers; learn from senior admins.
