Job summary

VISTA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Systems Support Technician to provide software and hardware support, ensuring efficient technology and network operations for district and site staff. The role involves installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software, plus end-user training and rapid response to outages.

Reports to the Director of Information Technology and collaborates with administrators, staff, and vendors to implement and sustain services across campuses,

Qualifications

• SKILLS are required to perform multiple, highly complex technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
• Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adherence to safety practices, applying job-related codes, and effective communication.
• Knowledge-based competencies include grammar, spelling, punctuation, and understanding of modern technology.
• Ability-based competencies include data handling, multitasking, and facilitating collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Attends and participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for information gathering.
• Collaborates with internal and external parties to convey information and maintain services.
• Communicates with staff and vendors to implement and maintain services.
• Configures on-site network systems for efficient operations.
• Installs, configures, and maintains software and hardware across district systems.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment for availability.
• Monitors systems and network performance to ensure security and optimal use.
• Provides end-user support and training for hardware and software.
