Job summary

The Federal Reserve Board internship program invites students to contribute to the M365 Platform Support Team within the Division of Information Technology in Washington, DC. You will design PowerShell automation, streamline ticketing, and assist with ServiceNow workflows while collaborating with engineers and analysts on enterprise Microsoft 365 operations.

Applicants must be enrolled students returning to studies after the internship, with opportunities for in-person, remote or hybrid work

Qualifications

• Foundational understanding of Windows systems, Microsoft 365, or cloud-based services.
• Basic to intermediate proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow or other IT ticketing systems (coursework experience acceptable).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to document processes clearly and work collaboratively with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building PowerShell automation to reduce manual engineering tasks (e.g., reporting, mailbox or group audits, queue cleanup scripts).
• Improving ticket management processes, including categorization, workflow enhancements, and scripted automation to support queue hygiene.
• Assisting with ServiceNow intake and workflow analysis, proposing automation or rules to reduce manual touchpoints.
• Participating in operational process improvement efforts, including documenting procedures, developing dashboards, or optimizing recurring support tasks.
• Supporting engineers in data quality assessments for platform operations.
• Assisting with platform reporting, metadata validation, and updates aligned with team service levels.
