Job summary

Case Western Reserve University is seeking an Information Systems Assistant to support University General (UGEN) IT operations. The role offers hands-on experience with computing systems, software, and hardware in a student-employment setting.

The position emphasizes learning, skill development, and collaboration with IT staff. Duties include clerical tasks, user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, and creating training materials. Must be Federal Work Study eligible.

Qualifications

• Superior communication skills (verbal, in person, phone, written).
• Familiarity with internal computer hardware and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Windows and MacOS and basic software suites (Office, Google products).
• Experience setting up and using printers.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical tasks for ongoing projects.
• Provide phone and email user support for the supported areas.
• Provide PC hardware support and networked equipment configuration.
• Assist with software support for Office, Windows 11, macOS, Adobe Acrobat, or other staff software.
• Install software following security/licensing guidelines and assist with vendor troubleshooting.
• Create documentation and training materials for projects.
