University of West Georgia located in Carrollton, GA, seeks a Student Assistant for the Computing Systems and Solutions Lab to assist with infrastructure, cloud-based systems, and software projects. Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled UWG student majoring in Computing or Computer Science in good academic standing.
• Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.
• For Computing majors, completed COMP 2320 or CS 1302 with a grade of C or better, and COMP 3400 with a grade of B or better.
• For Computer Science majors, currently enrolled in or completed CS 3211 and CS 3201 with grades of B or better.
• Possess strong work ethics and an eagerness to learn new, unfamiliar tools and technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work both independently with minimal supervision and as an active and engaged team member.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operating system and network setup, administration, and troubleshooting of hardware endpoints (PC, Raspberry Pi, and other IoT devices).
• Develop scripts and automation templates for computing infrastructure tasks.
• Create and maintain systems inventory and documentation.
• Contribute to software development efforts and research/prototype for computing infrastructure and software solutions.
• Provide limited teaching assistant support to Computing and Computer Science courses, including aiding with in-class labs and grading.
