Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring an IT Systems Analyst Specialist in Michigan to translate business requirements into technical specifications, design interfaces, data models, and integration patterns. You’ll work with BA/PO, Engineering, and QA in an agile/hybrid environment, ensuring traceability from requirements to delivered system behavior.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in systems analysis, strong written/verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Five years of related experience required.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience with system integrations and data flows.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze approved business requirements with BA/PO and translate into detailed system specs.
  • Document system behavior, interfaces, data mappings, and non-functional considerations.
  • Identify impacts, constraints, and risks; provide recommendations to Engineering.
  • Maintain traceability from requirements to design and delivery.
  • Support backlog readiness with clear technical requirements.
  • Contribute to LOE estimates and planning based on technical complexity.
  • Validate delivered system behavior against requirements; assist QA and defects.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including TDD.
  • Develop and maintain release docs; manage SSO implementations and cert renewals.
  • Serve as technical liaison for clients during SSO onboarding, configuration, testing, deployment.
  • Lead client implementation configuration conversations; drive production readiness and cutover.
  • Provide post-implementation support for smooth operations.

IT Systems Analyst Specialist
Primary Responsibilities
  • Partners with BA/PO to analyze approved business requirements, workflows, rules, and acceptance expectations.
  • Translates approved requirements into detailed system requirements, technical specifications, and actionable technical tasks.
  • Documents system behavior, integrations, interfaces, data impacts, mappings, edge cases, and relevant non-functional considerations.
  • Identifies technical impacts, dependencies, constraints, and impediments and provides recommendations to Engineering and Architecture.
  • Maintains traceability from approved business requirements through technical specifications, design, testing, and delivered system behavior.
  • Supports backlog readiness by ensuring technical requirements, dependencies, impacts, and system considerations are sufficiently understood before development.
  • Provides input into user story LOE and planning by assessing technical complexity, system impacts, dependencies, and implementation risks.
  • Validates delivered system behavior against documented technical requirements and supports Development / QA issue analysis and defect triage.
  • Responsible for technical documentation creation, including technical design documentation (TDD).
  • Develops and maintains technical release documentation for releases.
  • Manages Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations, certificate renewals, and ongoing maintenance for client-facing applications.
  • Serves as the primary technical liaison for clients during SSO onboarding, configuration, testing and deployment.
  • Leads system configuration conversations for client implementation projects, gathering requirements to ensure successful system configuration and deployment.
  • Facilitates execution of configurations, including production readiness reviews and cutover activities.
  • Provides post-implementation support to ensure a smooth transition to ongoing operations and successful client adoption.
Qualifications
Education & Licensing

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred

Experience
  • Five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical or system specifications required
  • Experience supporting system integrations, data flows, and application behavior
  • Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments preferred
  • Experience in enterprise or regulated environments preferred
Skills & Knowledge
  • Advanced systems analysis and technical requirements documentation skills
  • Strong ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Experience defining system interfaces, APIs, data models, and integrations
  • Understanding of system architecture, dependencies, and data flows
  • Ability to assess complexity, dependencies, risks, and technical trade-offs
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills across Product, Business, Architecture, Development, QA, and Operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
